This position is for the Oooguruk offshore oil field which is located in the North Slope of Alaska, about 250km southeast of Barrow, and is operated by ENI Oooguruk site. The ENI Oooguruk site Rotating Equipment Mechanic is responsible for performing general repairs and preventative maintenance activities to utility systems, and associated equipment. The position includes daily functions such as operation and oil production facility in a remote arctic environment, preparing for and performing maintenance, initiating work requests, writing procedures and interfacing with support groups. 

Rotating Equipment Mechanic must have extensive knowledge of Turbines; Reciprocating Gas Compressors, Air Compressors, Pumps and Valves. Comfortable working as a S.P.O.C. dealing with offsite and onsite vendors. Competent in troubleshooting turbines, gas compressors, air compressors pumps and valves. Perform preventative maintenance activities on utility systems, and equipment as required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)
  • Competent in troubleshooting turbines, reciprocating gas compressors, air compressors pumps and valves. Perform preventative maintenance activities on utility systems, and equipment required. 
  • Inspect and repair/rebuild mechanical problems as required. 
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspection and maintenance activities. 
  • Make recommendations to modify or replace equipment. 
  • Organize and direct the work of installation contractors as required.
  • Must be competent with the use of computers for research, material ordering, writing work orders, and good communication. 
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area. 
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of two years related training and experience required. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS
Must have Valid driver's license required.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:
  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.                          
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
