Builders Choice Modular is seeking an experienced Quality Control Supervisor to lead our QC Team at our Anchorage, Alaska facility, familiar with conventional wood framing construction systems but can adapt that knowledge and experience to modular construction technics. Knowledge of both residential and commercial construction is required in addition to structural systems, insulation systems, building envelope, doors/frames/hardware, windows, cabinets, countertops & finishes, mechanical and electrical systems.  In summary, the entire building design and corresponding QC requirements including the connection of modules and interconnection of systems between module components.

  • Implementation of a shop and/or project-specific QC plans utilizing the USACE three phase QC process or similar QC system
  • Developing rigorous QC Checklists and Hold Points
  • Maintaining QC records and developing trend charts or analysis to understand overall shop performance
  • Managing shop and field QC personnel and adequately resourcing QC needs with respect to architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical scopes of work
  • Proactively engaging shop supervision in addressing QC matters that surface to enable an expedient resolution
  • Preparing QC Reports for craft supervision and management review
  • As a second set of checks, verify that (1) the material received is indeed the material specified and/or approved and (2) received in an acceptable condition prior to installation


  • Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Candidate must complete a Federal background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Five-Ten (5-10) years’ experience in construction environment primarily in a Quality Control position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of concrete, steel erection, building construction, framing, siding, roofing, mechanical and electrical systems; Candidate must be familiar with ADA and Fire Resistance - Rated Construction requirements
  • Individual must be capable to demonstrate both the knowledge to perform QA/QC functions and the ability to identify means and methods to promote effective QA/QC in a highly competitive market    
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints    

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
