The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and project team with day to day project administration, operations, and communication. This position provides project management support for all types of construction in order to ensure the successful, on-time completion of construction projects.

Residents of Alaska may be given preference. This position is based in Anchorage, Alaska. Relocation assistance is not available.

Project Management Support

  • Supports the Project Manager in planning for and managing construction projects
  • Supports the team in focusing on quality, both in the field and in the office
  • Processes material submittals prior to purchasing materials
  • Obtains the construction materials and verifies that they are received in the field, as they were ordered
  • Follows up on all purchased materials, monitors current status and updates the PM and Project Superintendent
  • Coordinate efforts by subcontractors to include subcontract invoice review, scheduling and compliance
  • Abides by the ACHC code of conduct, policies and procedures and promotes shareholder hire on all projects
  • Complies with, understands and supports the ACHC safety culture to ensure a safe work environment

Project Superintendent Support

  • Supports the quality control effort to ensure that the project specifications are met
  • Ensures that all the construction safety rules and regulations are being observed and all safety documentation is completed and filed
  • Supports the cost control effort on the jobsite


  • Effectively directs communication regarding questions and issues from the field to the appropriate party
  • Liaises with local authorities, environmental agencies and federal entities on the implications of the construction
  • Processes “Requests for Information” when issues arise that need an answer or clarification from the design team
  • Prepares project coordination meeting agendas and minutes.
  • Subsequently distributes information to all project parties
  • Assures that all day to day project communication and documentation is filed properly

  • Manages day-to-day client interaction and expectations while developing lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties

  • Helps field staff focus on safety and provides clear field leadership as to the importance of safe work practices
  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned


  • High school diploma or GED.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business discipline preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in construction trade/administration preferred
  • Working knowledge and use of the Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word and Outlook), Primavera P6 scheduling and various accounting systems
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
